Make Promises Happen (MPH) has a motto “Changing Lives One Camp at a Time”!

It is a program of Central Christian Camp & Conference Center, located just south of Guthrie and is designed to serve those with all disabilities and/or disorders. Our events range from weekend and weeklong camps to off-site adventurers like day events to Frontier City, weekend Oklahoma Touring Trips, snow skiing in Winter Park, Colorado and surfing off North Padre Island, Texas.

Our goal at each of our MPH events is to create an environment that no matter the ability of each camper they can take part in all activities. Our campers enjoy activities including fishing, boating, swimming, archery, arts & crafts, dancing, talent show performances and hayrides, as well as participating in our off-site adventures.  This is all made possible with one-on-one volunteer counselors.

MPH is a unique program in that we serve youth as well as adults with special needs. Most of our camps are divided by age groups youth 6-16, young adult 17-25 and adult 26 and older. However, we do provide some disability/disorder specific camping opportunities, which include events for individuals with Prader-Willie syndrome, Epilepsy, Brain Injury Survivors, Muscular Dystrophy, Kidney Disorders, Spina Bifida, Cancer and Juvenile Arthritis.

These events provide much needed social involvement for our campers, but also respite for parents and caregivers. In 2007 Make Promises Happen served 2321 individuals at our camp site as well as an additional 6761 individuals through off site programs.

We greatly appreciate the opportunity to be the beneficiary of the 1st annual Hillapalooza.  We will supply some volunteers from both our camper and counselor base as well as an additional RN.  We look forward to the event and to the association with TRIOKC.
